Meet John Tinnin, MDiv, MFT

John Tinnin is the co-creator of the With You in the Weeds podcast. Originally from St. Louis, John has been serving as a pastor since graduating from seminary in 1989 with his Master’s of Divinity degree. After years of church planting in San Diego, he felt called to help people understand themselves at a deeper level and completed a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy.

In addition to hosting the WYITW podcast, John is the Director of Crossing Counseling, teaches marriage and parenting classes, and leads support groups, all while doing what he loves most: relating the love of Jesus to clients through the safety and trust of a therapeutic relationship. 

John has a great sense of humor, cares deeply for people, and is passionate about skillfully integrating sound psychological research with a deep understanding of the gospel.
