Meet Shay Roush, MDiv
Shay has served as one of the pastors at The Crossing since August 2002, though his time in ministry spans over 30 years. His pastoral role includes preaching and teaching responsibilities and overseeing Connections Classes, Crossing Men, Counseling Ministry, and Care Ministry.
Originally, Shay had planned to go to law school, but after graduating from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, he felt called into ministry, eventually attending Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago where he received a Master of Divinity, but more importantly where he met his wife, Lynn. Shay and Lynn enjoy doing ministry together, and have three children and a daughter-in-law: Jack & Caroline, Emma, and Owen.
Shay’s thoughts on With You in the Weeds:
“I’m so glad I get to contribute to this podcast and learn from our team of counselors who have thought deeply on topics of mental and emotional health as it relates to spiritual growth. As a pastor, I have been in the weeds with people for a long time, walking with them through their darkest moments. Being able to speak directly to people’s struggles, be honest about the hardships of life, and point people to the hope of the gospel has been a way to expand the reach of our counseling team, and help people who may not have access to good Christian counseling.”
Shay doesn’t shy away from tackling hard questions on WYITW, and brings years of ministry experience and a deep knowledge of scripture and theology to the podcast.
